Transfers to and from Santorini Airport

  • Rental Cars: There are several car rental companies at Santorini Airport - desks are located in the Arrivals, All Users Area after exiting airside.
  • Buses: Public transport buses depart up to 6 times a day during high season, fewer times during low season, from the bus stop right outside the terminal building. The bus departs only to Fira, with a couple of intermediate stops on the way, and takes around 25 minutes with a fee of around 2€ for a single adult ticket. Tickets are purchased on the bus in cash, as even as possible. Big bills are not accepted. The bus connects with other bus lines at Fira main station from where you will be able to go by bus to other parts of the island. This may take hours during high season due to traffic and the frequency of the buses.
  • Taxis: The taxi rank is located right outside the airport entrance and it works with a first come, first serve system through queueing. As there are a limited number of taxi cabs on the island the wait can be long, especially during high season, and passengers may have to share the taxi with other passengers to fill the car up. Taxis can be booked in advance at Santorini Airport.
  • Shuttles: Shuttle companies are available to pre-book your transfer, and sometimes for walk-up at the airport. Many charter tour operators have transfer pre-organised for their customers, and many hotels also offer to organise both airport pick-up and drop-off at an additional charge.
